One of the biggest questions surrounding the U.S. economy right now is when the Federal Reserve will begin to raise interest rates. I have been stating for a long time that I believe rates will remain lower for longer than most economists and market pundits believe. Having said that, pressure seems to be mounting on Janet Yellen and the Fed to end their Zero Interest Rate Policy. I believe that the Fed will remain dovish and keep interest rates low for the foreseeable future for he sake of the fragile domestic and International economies. Deflation is a much more significant risk Han inflation at this point. Having said that, I believe that the Fed will make a token quarter point interest rate hike at their September meeting just to prove that they can do so. Do you think that the Fed will raise rates in September? Who or why not.
